The Oberlandesgericht for the State of Schleswig-Holstein confirms that on June 1st, 2018 it received the Prosecutor General’s application for a decision on the admissibility of the former Catalan regional president Carles Puigdemont’s extradition for the accusation of rebellion as well as the accusation of embezzlement of public funds and corruption, respectively. In charge of the decision is the court’s I. Senate for Criminal Matters, which already decided on Puigdemont’s extradition detention. The Senate now examines whether or not, based on the made accusations, an extradition is legally admissible.
By when the Senate’s decision on the extradition’s admissibility is to be expected is currently still open. It remains to be seen whether the Senate will decide by the end of June 2018.
