Data privacy declaration

The Land government takes the privacy of your personal data very seriously. We want you to know which data we record, and when, and how we use the information. Technical and organizational measures have been taken to ensure that the data protection regulations are observed both by us and by our service providers.

As our web pages are updated and new technologies implemented it may become necessary to change this data privacy declaration. So we recommend that you read this declaration again from time to time.

Access to the website

Every visit to the Land government’s website is recorded in a journal file. The journal file stores the following data:

  • Date and time of the call
  • Name of the Internet service used, the resource called and the action used
  • The inquiry made by the client, if any
  • Technical data of our server on which the Internet service was called
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • Information as to whether the call was successful
  • IP address of the calling computer
  • Browser used by the calling computer.

The IP addresses are used solely for statistical evaluation of the use of the website; they are stored for a short time in an anonymized and summarized form. The data from the journal file are stored for a maximum of four days, then erased.

In some parts of our website you will be asked to enter personal data on forms (if you wish to order a newsletter or brochure, for example). We need this information in order to meet your request. It is up to you to decide whether to enter this information or not. Your personal data will not be combined with other data or compared with them; they will only be used for the purpose you intended. If it is necessary to store the data in order to meet your request, your information will be placed in specially protected servers. It will not be stored beyond the time needed to perform the requested service.

Passing on of personal data

Data recorded in connection with visits to the Land government’s website will only be passed on to third parties outside the Land government if we are obliged to do so by law or following a court order or if it is necessary to pass them on to enable prosecution in the event of an attack on the Land government’s Internet infrastructure. They will not be passed on for any other commercial or non-commercial purpose.

We use the personal information entered by you solely in answer to your request and only within the Land government and the public authorities, offices and institutions entrusted with the relevant service. The information is not passed on to third parties for other purposes.

Use of cookies

A cookie is a text file generated by the server of the Land government’s website and sent to the user’s Internet browser. Certain functions of the Land government’s Internet presence use session cookies (for example the shopping-cart function or the on-line police station). Session cookies store a series of numbers to identify the user (ID). The website server needs this ID, for example in order to offer the user his chosen brochures centrally in a shopping cart or to save parts of forms that have already been filled in. No other data on use is recorded. The session cookie ceases to be valid when the form has been sent off, after a break of four minutes or when the Internet browser is closed, and is erased automatically.

Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. You can set your browser so that it enables you to decide in each case whether or not to accept, or to reject all cookies.

Newsletters

In order to send you the newsletter you have ordered we store your email address. The addresses are encoded and stored in a data base. The data base and mailing lists are only accessible to the system administrators and cannot be accessed through the Internet.

Links to third-party websites

Our Internet presence contains links to websites operated by third parties. We have no means of ensuring that these parties abide by the regulations on data privacy.
