State Company for Road Construction and Transport of Schleswig-Holstein

The State Company for Road Construction and Transport of Land Schleswig-Holstein carries out both public and official tasks in the fields of road construction and transport.

The headquarters of the State Company for Road Construction is the operative centre in Kiel and has around 160 employees. Moreover, four branch offices in Flensburg, Rendsburg, Itzehoe and Lubeck, fulfil tasks in the entire Land, together with sub-offices (motorway/maintenance areas) and specialised centres. The State Company for Road Construction and Transport employs around 1.600 people.

Director Prof. Heinz Dressel is responsible for the State Company for Road Construction and commands the service company from its headquarters in Kiel.

The road network to be looked after in Schleswig-Holstein has a total length of more than 9,800 km. It consists of federal motorways, federal roads, and land roads, as well as district roads. In addition to these, there is an extensive cycle path network and more than 2,100 bridges that have to be regularly maintained for the security of their position and for the safety of traffic.

• Body responsible for reviewing public procurement awards
