Land Registry Offices in Schleswig-Holstein

There exist eight Land Registry Offices in Schleswig-Holstein (State of the Federal Republic of Germany). They are authorities of the Land for which the Ministry of Interior is responsible. Their tasks have been determined by the Land Surveying and Property Cadastre Act of Land Schleswig-Holstein.

The real estate cadastre as well as the surveying of properties and buildings is an essential task of these authorities.

All plots of land and buildings are verified in the real estate cadastre. The real estate cadastre consists of maps and collections of informations concerning each plot of land together with all its surveying data raised since 1875.

The real estate cadastre is the basis for the property certification in the land register and serves to safeguard the propriety. If necessary, the borders of plots of land can be displayed in a legally binding condition.

The real estate cadastre is the official register of plots of land. It is used for the acquisition and selling of plots of land, all types of planning related to the plot of land, particularly planning of urban land, for documents proving cable installations, for tasks associated with the environment and nature protection and for many other purposes.

The information of the real estate cadastre, especially the maps of cadastre, used to be basis of geospatial data infrastructure (GDI).

The information provided by the real estate cadastre can be used by everyone. Restrictions apply to personal data as well to documentations of the land survey.

The maps and the descriptive information of plots of land are digitally presented for the entire Land.
