Health and Schleswig-Holstein belong together. Schleswig-Holstein is a Health Location. Many good ideas, innovative approaches and projects in top level medical science, research and medical treatment have seen the light of day in Schleswig-Holstein. Many of them have been the archetype of projects adopted on a federal level, for example the Schleswig-Holstein Health Card. The blueprint for this is simple: In Schleswig-Holstein the actors in the health sector cooperate. The Health Initiative provides the platform.

Health is the growing market of the future. We have realized this in Schleswig-Holstein very early. To benefit from the prospects and to interlink the actors, we have created the Health Initiative Schleswig-Holstein. In order to sharpen the profile of our Health Location, we mend the competence of medicare with the medical economy. Health is the employer for about 140,000 people in Schleswig-Holstein, this is almost one fifth of all employees in the Land – the top position on the federal level. To sustain that, we optimize the service and create a favorable climate for health business, science and research. The Health Initiative is the startup point for innovation and projects in this area. In the Health Initiative, everybody cooperates - for the benefit of the people in our Land.
